At Pretty in Ink, we like to learn about your journey, your cancer and your scars.  After a diagnosis, you’re overwhelmed by science, statistics, doctors’ orders, endless research and uncertainty.  The care plan often leaves a woman feeling like a prisoner in her own body with little to no input.  We like to foster an environment that allows a woman to be in control, exercise her creativity and use the art of tattooing as a part of her recovery and therapy.   The designs we create are based on our client’s visions—we listen to each story and in partnership, create a design that empowers them to be confident in their healing, post-op. It is our mission to create artwork that helps tell the story of survival, resilience and perseverance.   Any design is acceptable, but most women gravitate toward floral designs as you can always add more petals, buds, leaves and branches to cover any shape your specific scar may have taken.  Beyond that, using floral, butterflies and other elements of nature symbolize natural beauty and life as well as serve as a symbol of femininity.
